"Disciple Fast Track"

Old Testament

(Just began August 21, 2016)

Sundays @ 9:45 a.m. & Thursdays @ 7:00 p.m.

Pastor Bowens invite you to join him on a 21 Day Daniel Fast beginning January 2-22, 2017.   The year 2017 is a new beginning so let's begin with a spiritual and healthy one.  The Daniel Fast will give us a better understanding of the BENEFITS of Fasting as well as the meaning of SOAP.  Attached you will find a list of the benefits and foods for fasting.

What is a fast?
Fasting is abstaining from something like food, drink or entertainment for a period of time to create some type of benefit in body, mind or spirit.

There are many types of fasts which include:
-Standard Fast (water only)
-Absolute Fast (No water or food)
-Partial Fast (restrict certain food and drink categories)
-Intermittent Fast (Only eat during small daily window, for example: 1pm-6pm)

There are many variations of these fasts, and there are spiritual benefits of all of these, when we are able to devote the time spent eating to focus on God and serving others.

If you are looking for a healing breakthrough in body, mind and/or spirit, then you may consider doing a Daniel Fast.
What is a Daniel Fast? The Daniel Fast is a biblically based partial fast referenced in the Bible, particularly in two sections of the Book of Daniel:

Jackson Chapel Family,

As we enter into this new year and season, let us seek the Lord like never before.  Matthew 7:7 says “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”   I believe that Fasting is one way to seek Him.  We should begin each day with prayer.  Prayer sets the course for the rest of the day.  Fasting in January will set the course for the rest of the year.  As the deer pants for water, may our souls thirst for God.  Fasting is both private and public.  As we Fast let us pray that strongholds will be broken in our lives.  Fasting will allow us to be empowered to overcome the bondage that has enslaved us from year to year.  Fasting will help us as believers in Christ and the body of Jackson Chapel to mature and grow as one.  Fasting will take us to places we have never been and allow us to see things we’ve never seen as well as growing in a deeper and greater relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Whatever we do, let us remember to do it unto the Lord.

I encourage you to pray, consult with your physician and seek the type of Fast that is best for you.

Many of life’s battles are won or lost in the mind. With every test we stand at the crossroads of being bitter or better, broken or built up, victim or victor. This weekend series is for every woman who is ready to break the cycle of toxic thoughts that contradict God’s promises of life and abundance. Renewing your mind is not just a childhood memory verse to be tucked away for safe keeping, but divine, commanded instruction for daily victorious living. Living bold. Living strong. Living free. God has made freedom available to each of us…starting with making the mental choice to choose life and choose it abundantly. Then creating intentional daily habits from the Word of God that shift our perspective, strengthen our faith, and give purpose to our story. “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he…” Proverbs 23:7
